You know, but you actin' like you don't know.

What’s Next?

I just watched some California congresswoman totally disgrace herself on MSNBC by saying that the only reason France and other European nations aren’t helping in Iraq is because of the US military presence. She claims that as soon as our ‘occupying forces’ are withdrawn, ‘international humanitarian groups’ will come in and clean up the mess. Her comments are checked by the Republican guest but it makes you wonder how insanely irrational people like her are actually elected to congress. Not only that, but people like Ron Reagan gladly invite them on TV to spread that garbage and there is never any backlash, it’s just another interview.

Rob from Say Anything is totally on point:

I’ve been watching Iraq election coverage on CNN and MSNBC all day and the general theme of the coverage seems to be “what’s next.” Seems like a lot of these “experts” would like to erase the memory of this victory from mind as soon as possible so that they can move on to the next negative story.

It’s funny how many of the liberal commentators had to keep repeating that they weren’t rooting against the election.

John Kerry was on Meet the Press this morning and said, “No one in the United States should try to over-hype this election.” (PoliPundit has the transcript).

What’s next? I’d say a good start would be to count the vote, then maybe put the winners in office and have them try to do what they were elected to do? Just one of the ways you could go from here I guess.
