The new 50 cent album Massacre was leaked over the internet Monday.
IOL: Rapper 50 Cent is rushing his album Massacre to stores five days early, after it was leaked onto the internet on Monday.
The anticipated album was originally scheduled for release on February 15, before being pushed back to March 8, but it will now hit stores on March 3 following the leak.
The track causing the most stir since the album hit the black market has been the highly anticipated track Piggy Bank, in which 50 Cent takes verbal jabs at fellow rappers Fat Joe, Nas, Jadakiss, Ja Rule and Shyne.
Our prediction last month was almost on the money:
Slowplay.com (Jan. 22): 50’s new album, The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, is scheduled to drop March 8th. This means it will be released sometime in late February after it is leaked in early February.
The album was in wide circulation on the internet late Monday, 2/21. The timestamp on the distribution file shows that the files were ripped 2/21 12:06pm but the release info files says they were ripped 2/24 (obviously incorrect). Sources of ours have said the album was leaked “right before the NBA All-star game.” There is no proof that any NBA players were involved, that statement may have just been a time reference. (The game was played on 2/20.)
Look for the released album to come with lots of extras to encourage people to buy it legitimately.
Fat Joe has said his album, All or Nothing, also to be released on March 3, will contain a response to the 50 Cent diss song Piggybank. Had this leakage not happened and the release not been pushed up, the “response” would have actually come before the initial diss was publicly heard.
