Something odd happened today on Fox News. Around 12:30 ET or so, Fox News Live went to a segment on the Michael Jackson case. Host David Asman introduced his guests, including Geraldo Rivera. Geraldo has made some news with his handling of the Jackson case, as he’s repeatedly said he thought Jackson was innocent and once went so far as to say he was “framed”. (See Slowplay’s “Geraldo unabashedly shills for Michael Jackson“.) When Asman introduced Rivera, he said “Geraldo Rivera, appearing as an attorney,” and then mentioned that he is not representing the views of the Fox News Channel. The segment then was cut off (and Geraldo in fact never got to utter a word) by a breaking news alert about the Chicago murders.
It was an interesting disclaimer, bordering on FNC pulling the rug out on the Shillbot.
